Premium Accessibility: Curbless Shower Renovation (Yonge & Eglinton)

Project Overview:

Located in the heart of Midtown Toronto, this renovation transformed a dated bathroom into a modern, barrier-free sanctuary. Our goal was to modernize the space while strictly adhering to the Premium Package standards.

We focused on a zero-entry (curbless) shower to maximize safety and accessibility. Using our advanced waterproofing protocol—featuring XPS panels and Ardex liquid membrane—we engineered a wet room that is fully protected against leaks, a critical upgrade for Midtown homes.

Technical Specifications (The “Leak-Proof” Standard):

We utilized a multi-layer protection system to ensure longevity:

Substrate & Reinforcement: We installed XPS Panels on the walls for thermal protection and Sub-Guard Membrane on the floor. This specific membrane uncouples the tile from the subfloor, preventing cracks caused by structural movement.
Sealing Protocol (Critical): All seams, corners, and joints were reinforced with specialized waterproofing tape and sealed with Ardex Liquid Membrane. This creates a flexible, monolithic water barrier.
Finishing Detail: After tiling, all internal corners and changes of plane were professionally sealed with color-matched silicone to ensure a permanent, watertight finish.
